FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

I see other designers offering design services for $50...why shouldn't I use them?

Designers that otter their services in that price range are not taking the time and care to properly work through a design for your business. Most often they are using templates, essentially throwing ideas against the wall and hoping somethings sticks. On the other hand, before I start a design, I use a combination of feedback on what type of design you have in mind and I also research into your industry and take serveral branding elements into consideration before starting on a comprehensive design.

 

Do I own the rights to the design?

Yes. The work that I perform is considered 'work for hire' and as such I lay no claim to ownership once you have paid for the design.

 

What file formats will I receive once the brand design is completed?

The final brand logo design files include the original design file that it was created in which would be Adobe Illustrator plus you'll receive the following as well: .eps, .pdf, .png, .gif, .tif and .jpg.

 

Do you work on an hourly rate, or quote based on the project?

I prefer to provide complete project quotes rather than working on an hourly basis, so that I can effectively manage my clients budget expectations and ensure there are no surprises from the beginning.  I also refer to this as a Scope and Fee (S&F) or Estimate.

 

Will you accept monthly design contracts?

Many of my clients require a consistent, reoccurring volume of design work, and I’m happy to discuss a flat contract rate for a set number of design hours per month.

 

Do I have to pay upfront?

I require a deposit upon approval of the project quote or S&F, with the remaining balance to be paid upon upload of files to a commercial print shop or website hosting server.  The deposit ensures the client is committed to moving forward with the project.  For large scale projects, the total cost may be split up and paid upon project milestones.

 

How can I pay my invoice - what payment methods do you accept?

Invoice payments are due within fourteen (14) days of the billing date noted on the invoice.  Payments are accepted by cash, cheque, or credit card/PayPal through my secure online payment gateway (coming soon).
